Week 27: Sight and Sound

Image
Hallo zusammen! Another crazy week of dritt life has passed. It has been so chaotic but so so fun haha. It's a little bittersweet that Sister Terrell will be leaving us tomorrow. Speaking of bittersweet, we got transfer calls on Saturday. Sister Smith and I will be staying together for another transfer , but we no longer will be covering for Schaffhausen . It's nice to be able to focus more on the people in Singen, but it's also sad to say goodbye to all the people in Schaffhausen. All I'm saying is, the elders that are coming to Schaffhausen better take good care of them haha!! We went to the temple for p-day. We were able to do a session of endowments and then some baptisms. It was so wonderful! I feel so peaceful and safe in the temple, so it was great to be able to rest and recharge a little bit. Well, poor Sister Terrell has been through it this week, so she's probably excited to leave us haha! For example: we were heading to an appointment in Schaffhausen,...

Week 26: The Dritt

Image
Grüezi mitenand, This week Sister Smith and I got some exciting news: we were going to be in a dritt (trio) for the next two weeks! Our new comp is none other than the lovely Sister Terrell! We already knew her from our district, so we were hyped. Sister Terrell is so much fun, and it's already been such a party. The only catch is that we are triple-covering haha! So now we have Singen, Schaffhausen, and Schwammedigen. It's been busy, but we're making it work haha! We went to Oeschinensee last week! The hike itself was tough, but at least it was pretty the entire way up. When we got to the lake, there were a ton of cows everywhere. Naturally, I went to pet one, and it cuddled up next to me!! We met with one of our friends this week, and she broke the news to us that she would be on vacation for the next couple of months. Normally this isn't a big deal, but she doesn't have a phone, and she is super worried about her family knowing that she's meeting with the ...

Week 25: A Spiritual Feast

Image
Hallo Familie und Freunde! This week was interesting because we didn't spend a lot of time in our area with everything going on. We had Zone Conference, a tausch, and a Relief Society temple trip, so it was quite a spiritual week. We spent last Tuesday with a member in Überlingen. I just have so much love for this member! She insists that we refer to her as our grandma, so we call her "Oma Doris". She is so kind to the missionaries, and she supports us so much. She showed us around the beautiful city of  Überlingen, and bought us some really good ice cream at the end, so it was a really good p-day! Wednesday was Zone Conference. President Naatjes talked to us about trusting in the Lord and how He really is the most trustworthy person. The rest of the conference was about relying on the Spirit. I was studying that topic last week, so I was excited to learn more. I think the most important thing I've learned about the Spirit is to just trust that I am being led as I ...

Week 24: My 6 months!!!

Image
Hallo zusammen!! I hit my 6 months this week! It's so weird to think about because my mission has completely warped my sense of time. I feel like I've been out here for so long, but I also feel like I just got here. I don't know how it feels like both at the same time, but somehow it does haha! This past week we had our sister's devotional! We travelled to Luzern last Monday night, made dinner, and then spent p-day together. It was so fun, and I just really love all the sisters in my zone! Sister Smith and I had another super busy week! Well, when we planned it, it was super busy. Then most of our plans fell through, so we did a lot of finding and visiting members. On the hottest days of the week, we were outside the most haha. We actually found two new friends, so I think God definitely had a hand in making that happen! I hit my 6 month mark on Sunday. Naturally, I was thinking a lot about my mission so far and what it means to me. My mission has been so difficult, b...

Week 23: Beschäftigt!

Image
Hallo zusammen! We had a really busy week! We had so many appointments with our friends and members. That being said, it was also a hard week for me. It still isn't easy for me to adjust to a new comp and leading out my area, but those are the ups and downs of missionary life I guess! We spent last p-day in Zürich with the Luzern and Schwammedigen Sisters. We didn't have a ton of time because we had an appointment scheduled for the evening. So, we spent the morning just walking around the Altstadt and sightseeing. We then went to the Lindt chocolate factory again because only Sister Marriott and I had been there. No complaints though, I was in heaven haha! We met with a lot of members during the week. I just have so much love for them! They really are amazing people! We went to an Ausstellung on Saturday in Zürich. It got off to a really interesting start because some man there was very against the church. He started yelling, and getting up in our faces a little bit. He also...
