Week 40: The Turkey Day 5k
Hoi zäme!!
This week was busy!! We had back-to-back appointments for Sister Nielsen's last week here. It was a good week, but also sad as Sister Nielsen is preparing to leave for Innsbruck tomorrow.
Last Tuesday was our temple p-day. We spent the day as a zone and had a testimony meeting after our temple session. It was a relaxed day, which was really nice.
We visited an elderly lady who lives in a nursing home this week. She is literally so funny, but doesn't even realize it. I'd thought I'd share this quick story haha:
When we visit her, we usually watch a short Book of Mormon video with her. We got to the one where Laman tries to get the brass plates from Laban. As we get to the part where Laban accuses Laman of being a robber, she shakes her head and rolls her eyes in disapproval. I don't know why we found this so funny, but Sister Nielsen and I lost it!! She is just this tiny old lady, but she has so much sass in her haha!!
We also had our Turkey Day 5k on Thanksgiving!! Sister Nielsen ran it with Sister Morris, and I walked with Sister Tripp haha! A 5k is still a 5k even if you walk the whole way.
Everyone is getting set up for Christmas here!! I love the Christmas season! People seem a lot nicer at this time, and it's such a nice reminder of the gift of our Savior Jesus Christ. I watched the Christ Child this week, and I thought a lot about what gifts I would give to the Savior. I know that what He really wants from us are the simple gifts from the heart. When we go out and serve others as He serves us, that is the best gift for Him!
I am so thankful for you all! Go light the world this week!
Liebe Grüße,
Sister Gladwell
