Week 20: An Interesting Ausstellung

Grüezi mitenand!!

It has been a bit of a challenging week. Nothing too big happened, just a few minor inconveniences haha. Our bikes broke down and we just had a lot of trains cancel on us because of construction. Nonetheless, I'm really enjoying it here in Singen and Schaffhausen!

We went to Seealpsee last Tuesday. It's definitely a hidden gem here in Switzerland. There weren't very many people, but it was so beautiful—definitely one of my favorite hikes here! We took the gondola up the mountain and hiked down. The hike took us through a little cave, and there was a little restaurant on the side of a cliff. It was a very rocky hike, so our feet were pretty sore by the end. Luckily, we were able to put our feet in the water when we got to the lake.

I was on Tausch this week with Sister Kerksiek in Singen. It was my first time leading out my area on Tausch, but it went really well! We visited some less-active members, and delivered a Book of Mormon to a referral in Radolfzell. We also had an Ausstellung in Singen while we were on Tausch, so Sister Kerksiek and I had to get that set up. We got the bike out for the Ausstellung, and it was sooo heavy!! I swear it was filled with every printed copy of the Book of Mormon lol. We managed to get the bike out of the garage, but we realized that the tires were flat. We thought, "Okay, no problem. We just saw a bike pump inside the Ausstellung bike." We got the pump out and started pumping up the tires. We got it pumped up, and Sister Kerksiek and I were celebrating because we figured it out. Guess what? We didn't figure it out. As soon as we unscrewed the pump from the tire, it immediately deflated. We struggled with it for another 10 minutes before we actually figured it out, but it was all good because we still had time to ride the bike to the Austellung spot. I got on the bike, and it wouldn't budge. It was so heavy that even when I was putting all my weight on the pedals, it wouldn't move! So, Sister Kerksiek and I pushed the bike to the Austellung spot. As we were pushing, a bus drove by with a bunch of missionaries in it. They had a pretty good laugh seeing us push the bike up a hill haha! The Ausstellung itself was pretty interesting. Sister Kerksiek and I ended up talking to a bunch of creepy old guys, but we also talked to a guy that was interested in the Book of Mormon, so I would say it was a success!

On Sunday, we had dinner with a member. She likes to throw these parties called "Tavolatas". Basically, you have to work for your dinner. You have to do tasks, and each task is worth a certain amount of points. You then need enough points to eat dinner. Luckily I had enough, so I didn't go hungry haha.

That's about it! I hope you all have a great week and ich hab euch lieb!!

Große Liebe,

Sister Gladwell
