Week 19: Missionswoche

Hallo Familie und Freunde!

This week was really good! We had our Stake Mission Week, so there were quite a few ward activities geared toward missionary work. I think Sister Bauman and I both saw a lot of miracles!

Last Monday, we had a ward Family Home Evening with the Schaffhausen branch. We gave little presentations on our experiences with missionary life. I was nervous because I had to give the presentation in German, but I think it worked out. I spoke in really simple sentences and made a lot of mistakes, but I'm happy with myself for trying! It still is a struggle to learn German, and it sometimes feels like my progress with the language is really slow, but I feel like I've had a lot of help from God. I feel like He's definitely given me the confidence to try.

We went to Zürich last Tuesday. We got breakfast with the Schwammedigen Sisters, and Sister Bauman and I shared an amazing waffle!! (It's so pricey in Switzerland, so we always just share food haha) Anyway, the waffle was so so good! It was legitimately one of the best waffles I've ever had! After that, we went around the city a little bit and stumbled upon a bookstore. Sister Marriott loves reading, so we decided to take a look. The store was actually really inexpensive, so I got a couple of books to help me practice my German. We took a boat, and then Sister Bauman and I went back to Schaffhausen where we found a free history museum with a lot of cool artifacts! We finished off the day with some ice cream from our ice cream guy. We go to this ice cream shop so much that the guy working there now uses an informal greeting with us haha. It was a very relaxed p-day, which was really nice.

We had a tanzabend this weekend, so Sister Bauman and I went crazy on inviting people. We took all the invitations and just invited every teenager that we saw on the street. We really did not expect anyone to show up since that's how it usually goes, but we got 8 people there! One of their moms even showed up, and she's interested in attending church, so that's a pretty successful night if you ask me!

Those are just a few highlights from the week. I hope you all are doing well and that this next week is great for you all!

Liebe Grüße,

Sister Gladwell

3. We went to advertise the dance on the Singen Facebook page, and this is what we saw—a casserole as the profile picture and Po from Kung Fu Panda in the background haha. It's just totally something Singen would do haha

4. On the boat with the Schwammedigen Sisters
