Week 9: My First Transfer
Hallo Friends and Family!
I have officially finished my first transfer in the mission! Sister Carter and I will be staying together in Salzburg, so I'm really excited to be spending another transfer with her!
Last Tuesday, we went dirndl shopping. We decided to go shopping in Neumarkt because it would be way less expensive than going shopping in Salzburg. For context, Neumarkt is a smaller town about 30 minutes away from Salzburg. They had a cute little dirndl shop where you could buy them second-hand. I found a dirndl that I absolutely loved, but it was just a bit too big for me. We asked the lady working there if they had it in a smaller size. It turns out that they alter clothing there as part of the purchase, so I got a really good deal for it! Anyway, my dirndl is being altered right now, but I'm really excited to wear it! In our mission, all of the sisters have a tradition of wearing their dirndls to Christmas zone conference, and I can't wait! :)
We taught quite a few lessons this week, and one of them was outside in Mirabellgarten since the weather has been getting a bit warmer. This garden was actually in the Sound of Music, so Sister Carter and I were so pumped to be there!
We also had a lesson with our friend that we met on the street, and we invited him to be baptized. He said yes!! The only problem is that he can't come to church because he has to work on Sundays. He is looking for a new job, and we have been praying that he can find one that will allow him to come to church on Sunday. We set a date for his baptism, so he has a goal to work for. We hope that he'll be able to find a new job within that time. However, I have faith that the Lord will provide a way. :)
It was a good week for me! I'm still struggling with the language, but I know that I've received a lot of help from God, and that He'll continue to help me.
Ich hab euch lieb!
Große Liebe,
Sister Gladwell
