Week 53: Exciting Things!

Image
Servus alle! This past week was a really good one! We had the baptism of our little friend on Sunday, so that was such a happy day! We spent last Tuesday in Augsburg. We went to the famous Augsburger Dom, got some really good asian food, and checked out the Fuggerei. The Fuggerei is the world's oldest public housing complex that's still in use, dating back to 1516. The residents there pay only 88 cents per year for rent! Like I mentioned earlier, Sunday was the baptism of our friend. Watching her make a covenant with our Heavenly Father was such a special experience. Our little friend, who is so shy, got up and bore her testimony. She looked so happy, and I was so happy for her! I felt like such a proud mom the entire time haha! One of our friends stayed for the baptism, and she told us that she's excited to be baptized. This friend is really such a miracle! Sister Tripp and I love teaching her. We have a lesson with her today, and if all goes as planned, we will set a bapt...

Week 52: Nymphenburg

Image
Hallo alle! We got transfer calls this past week, and Sister Tripp and I will both be staying! I'm happy that we get to stay in Augsburg a bit longer, especially because we got some exciting things coming up! This next Sunday will be the baptism of a little girl Sister Tripp and I have been teaching, so we've been preparing for that. We also have two new friends that we've been working with. One of them even came to church on Sunday, so we've just been having the best time! We had the opportunity to go to Schloss Nymphenburg last p-day with all the sisters in our zone. Nymphenburg is a palace in Munich with very ornate ceilings and walls, so it was really beautiful as you'd expect. We had another Ausstellung in Munich on Saturday. The people there aren't always the friendliest, but we were still able to have some nice conversations regardless. We also get to do a little bit of sightseeing as we're walking the streets of Munich, so that honestly helps us cope...

Week 51: Happy Valentine's Day!

Servus! Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all had a good week, and you ate a lot of chocolate today! I certainly will! Last Tuesday, to celebrate our year mark, Sister Tripp and I made enchiladas and went to this giant thrift store/warehouse. It was fun to look around because they had so much stuff there. I can't say any of it was good, but some of it gave us a good laugh. We did end up finding some wedding dresses though, so we tried them on lol. We had an amazing lesson this week with a new friend! For some background, she texted us out of the blue last week and asked us how she can be baptized. We had no idea who this person was, but we had her contact saved in our phone. We explained that we teach 5 lessons and if she keeps the commitments we give her, then she can be baptized. She said that she wants to do that, so we set up an appointment and met up with her. As we're getting to know her, we ask her why she wants to get baptized into this church. She explained that sh...

Week 50: One Year

Image
Servus alle!! Today is a big day—my one year mark! I have officially been a missionary for one year! I'm so grateful for my time as a missionary so far! I've learned so much, and I've felt God's love so strongly this past year. Last p-day was an interesting one…just kidding haha! We cleaned our apartment because it was a disaster, and then we built a little cupboard thingy for our bathroom. It had a lot of mysterious parts, that I'm still lowkey a little confused about. We had some solid member appointments with some families this week! How'd we do it? Holz Wackel Turm.  I know this email was a bit of a silly one, but in all seriousness, I'm so grateful to be a missionary. I've met so many wonderful people, who have taught me more about Christ through their testimonies and actions. I know that Christ is real and that He loves us.  To the next 6 months! Liebe Grüße, Sister Gladwell 1. GODMORGON 2. We were graciously gifted this by a member. It makes for ...
